Johnnie was born in Winston Salem, NC. His father was a US Marine, so he grew up as a military brat, traveling the country from base to base as a child and a young teen. Played HS & some College Football then moved on to racing Motocross. During that time he was signed by a Talent Agency as a Model. While working as a model he appeared in GQ Magazine, Ebony Magazine, Jet magazine, Numerous JC Penny Catalogs, Addias Poster’s & Catalogues, along with Puma and many others. Lots of High Fashion Shows for well known Designers, for Nordstrom’s, Saks 5th Ave. Robinson, etc.
While working as a Model, he started taking acting classes. Within a few years he was booking, commercials & films. You might have seen him on the series “Renegade” , “Tales From the Crypt” or “L.A. Law” to name a few. Also films like “Heart Condition” with Denzel Washington, “Hell on the Battleground”, “Forgotten Heroes”, “Romancing Sara”, “Shades of Gray” & Independent Spirit Awards nominee “Hunter Gatherer” and others.
Was named one of Americas most Watchable Men on the Phil Donahue Show by Suzy Mallory (President of Manwatcher’s International). Recruited by The Chippendales and The Ford Agency in NY. Raced Motocross and is an avid Bodysurfer. Professional Model for many years before going into acting.
Was also a Principal actor in 2 National Commercials for Michelob Beer, themed “The Night Belongs to Michelob” in the late 80’s. Also a Guest on a number of Talk shows as well.
Currently He is attached to Star in 2 upcoming projects. One is a series called “Realms” and the other is a film called “Museum of the Dead”.
